iPhone users of PQC Chat and PQC Wallet: back up your keys before the next update
Both iPhone apps have moved to our company's new Apple developer account. Their next iPhone updates can't read the keys saved by earlier versions, so keep a backup before you update. Android isn't affected.
PQC Chat, before you update: Settings → Backup Keys, choose a passphrase, tap Create Backup and keep the backup text (Share) and the passphrase. Use this Settings backup: one made from the setup screen can't be restored there.
PQC Chat, after the update: tap Get Started, then Settings → Restore Keys, paste the backup, enter the passphrase and tap Restore. Without a backup the app starts a new identity and earlier messages can't be read.
PQC Wallet, before you update: on the Wallet tab, open each wallet → Export private key → Show key, and save the private key (for post-quantum wallets, the public key too). After the update: Archive wallet, then Settings → Archived Wallets → Delete, then New wallet → Import a wallet. Steps in your language are on pqc-imza.com.
If automatic updates are on, back up today. We will never ask for your keys, backup or passphrase.
